Angela Dubbert Pond

BFA: The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) MFA: Boston University ABD: University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I have always loved playing & working out-of-doors, from the rolling Maryland farmland & woodlands of my childhood to the New England landscapes & seascapes in adulthood. My sensibilities as a painter are energized by the natural world. Nature’s light, spaces, colors, textures, forms, movements, and smells inform my understanding, visual expressions, and interpretations. Plein Air painting is my favorite. The light, colors & forms in nature fascinate me. Drawing continues to be very central & essential to my art. I prefer the immediacy of working directly from “life,” be it landscape, still life, or portraiture; drawings or paintings. Color is prominent & bold in my paintings. Extensive travels to Europe, Africa, Great Britain, Australia, & the America's greatly influence my work.
